The Pedestal Bowl

USD 200

We came across this antique brass pedestal bowl and were immediately drawn to its intricate jaali detailing, floral motifs and the unexpected pop of red inside.

The combination of pierced metalwork and colourful decoration is reminiscent of traditional Indian brassware, particularly the engraved and lacquered pieces associated with Jodhpur and Moradabad.

We wanted to highlight the bowl’s intricate jaali pattern without taking away from its original colours and floral detailing.

So, we added a touch of light blue metallic paint along the sides, bringing the pierced design into sharper focus. A small intervention, just enough to draw the eye to the craftsmanship that made us fall for it in the first place.
