The Lion Patch & Frame

We came across this vintage lion patch made using traditional Gujarati beadwork. With its bright colours, tiny beads and quirky little lion, it was hard to miss. Beaded textiles like these have been used to embellish garments, accessories and decorative pieces, making everyday objects a little more special.
We loved the character of this one and wanted to find a way to give it the attention it deserved.
We gave this little lion the spotlight by framing it in a simple, sleek German silver-plated frame. Nothing too fancy, just a clean border that lets the intricate beadwork, bold colours and all those tiny details do the talking.
Sometimes, the best thing to add to an old piece is a frame and a little breathing room.
