The Cow & The Tail

This sculptural cow vessel is hand-shaped in copper using the centuries-old metalworking tradition of western India, where sheets of metal are hammered, raised and joined entirely by hand. The cow was dented when we found it and moreover, its proportions are broad and unique, which makes it interesting and gives it character.

Its woven diamond motifs and warm aged patina made it more than a decorative vessel. It's a piece of living craft that carries forward a metal-working tradition practiced for generations.
